I recently had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful family in Harpers Ferry on the Potomac River. Our family sessions are child-led, which means that we encourage kids to explore and let their authentic personalities shine through. This particular session was filled with so much fun and adventure, especially for a delightful 6-year-old boy.

It was calling for crazy rain all day. About an hour before their ceremony while Meaghan was getting ready it rained buckets and then, as if the sky knew these two were to be married the rain stopped and held off for the rest of the night!

Read MoreAlicia & Adam were married 15 years ago, today actually. They said their vows again on November 13th 2021 at Harpers Ferry Brewing with their family, friends and a reunion with their old bridal party. Ya know, their minister said it right, you really don’t know the weight of your vows or even what love really means until down the road…and a few kids later. They had the sweetest ceremony that had everyone crying and we had a blast with their bridal party. Harpers Ferry Brewing has amazing beer and pizza, stunning views and who doesn’t like hanging around a bon fire listening to live music? Super fun afternoon celebrating 15 years together! Happy 15th Anniversary Alicia & Adam!!

Read MoreCaroline & Darin were married November 19th 2021. These two contacted us and said hey whenever you have available next, we want to come to Harpers Ferry and elope! So with 5 days to plan, Caroline and Darin were able to get their florals from CM Bloomers out of Brunswick Maryland on short notice and we were off and with color still on the trees even! We had take our shoes off to walk through some VERY cold water to get out on the little island but these two were troopers and adventured with us all around Harpers Ferry. The most beautiful sunsets are after a storm. the light angled right in between the heavy cloud cover and the mountains right before it hits the horizon…perfection! These two have a special memory of Darin teaching Caroline how to wobble at a friends wedding in the beginning of their relationship so we had to wobble on their special day!

The Wedding Niche hosted and coordinated our styled shoot, providing the most gorgeous historical backdrop and connected all the vendors. Outdoor Eventures set up their glamping tent, TLC Bridal Boutique provided the dress, The Little Things designed and made the earrings, Sofia Marraffa Flower Designs provided the gorgeous bouquet and cake florals, Monica’s Sugar Studio baked the delicious cake and Brixton is the hat maker. Our couple got ready, ate and cut the cake in their glamping tent, we then took our couple on a hike up the Appalachian Trail, we walked the Potomac River banks and drove up to an overlook to watch the sunset over Harpers Ferry with champagne. What an awesome way to say I do all within an hour of DC.
