The Best Wedding Venues in Harpers Ferry

Harpers Ferry is such a dreamy and adventurous destination for weddings. Harpers Ferry is approximately 1 hour outside of Washington DC and right on the border of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. It’s a picturesque historic town located at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers, surrounded by beautiful mountains, cliffs and forests with a ton of outdoor activities. It’s the perfect place for your wedding, here are our favorite wedding venues in the Harpers Ferry area.

  1. Keep Tryst Manor

    Micro-weddings are the specialty of this lush, historic venue, which is nestled near Harpers Ferry in the charming town of Knoxville, MD, an easy drive from both Baltimore and D.C. and within walking distance of the Appalachian Trail, the Potomac River, and the C&O Canal. Outdoor ceremony options abound throughout its five gorgeous acres. After exchanging vows, opt for a reception in the rustic-chic 1804 barn, outfitted with beautiful wood farm tables and chairs, gauzy draping, and sparkling chandeliers. Your small guest count doesn't mean fewer perks: weddings here include planning services, dressing rooms for the couple and the lovely Springhouse Studio for makeup & hair, guest suites, riverside photo opportunities, and an inviting fire pit.

    This venue also offers officiant and planning services for adventure elopements in the nearby parks featuring cliffs, mountain views and riverside elopements.

2. Hapua Quarry

The Quarry is located in Harpers Ferry West Virginia. This property is very unique in that the moment you step onto the property you feel like you are on an island in the Caribbean. With the white sand beach, the clear blue green water and the stone cliffs surrounding the quarry it is breathtaking!

This property can accommodate up to 50 with a reception room, up to 100 with a tent rental. They offer; micro weddings, weddings, elopements, engagements, rehearsal dinners, corporate events and celebration events.

3. Harpers Ferry Brewery

Harpers Ferry Brewery is a local favorite with it’s amazing brews with even more amazing views, this place is perfect for any wedding!

This venue is four season, they have a beautiful bar with plenty of seating inside and a heated outdoor deck. They have a pizza kitchen, allow outside caterers and food trucks. A large pergola that overlooks the South bend of the Potomac River and the Blue Ridge Mountains. 2 XL event tents and 1 private river overlook deck.

They also offer additional private rental options such as an Early Bird (can rent the property privately for 1 hour before we open) and a private bar/bartender for any event. Their Highwater Bar can be rented privately and the area can accommodate up to 100 guests. This one is definitely at the top of our list!

4. Breaux Vineyards

Breaux Vineyards, located just over the Virginia state line in Loudoun County, is one of the most desired destinations in Virginia for an elegant vineyard wedding. The 404 acre estate is home to some of the most beautiful views of rolling vines, and is sure to offer the most picturesque background for your most memorable events. Extending up the Short Hill Mountain and nestled in between the hills, the expansive private setting will leave guests talking about your event for years to come.

5. Kalero Vineyard

Kalero is a lovely 130 acre farm and vineyard, located in western Loudoun County with breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge mountains. The historic barn, the cornerstone of which was set in 1834, has gone under extensive restoration to become one of Loudoun County’s premiere wedding destinations.

8. Shadow Creek

Shadow Creek is yours to enjoy for 12 hours with numerous beautiful indoor and outdoor options so that you never have to worry about the weather or your guests’ comfort.

Their sophisticated barn can comfortably seat up to 300 guests with a dance floor, is climate-controlled, handicap accessible, and has a commercial generator for power backup. Their property is also suited perfectly for multi-day events and tent installations on the patio. 

9. Tranquility Farm

Tranquility Farm is a OTIUM CELLARS luxury event farm in the heart of close by Purcellville, Virginia. With over 50 private acres, Tranqulity farm and Otium Cellars offer a one-of-a-kind luxury event experience that allows hosts and guests to enjoy the best in wine, food, celebrations and accomodations.

Their huge black modern barn’s max capacity is 120 with plenty of overnight accommodations right on their beautiful grounds. Their barn includes a catering kitchen and climate control. They also have horses and own the vineyard across the street. The historic home is perfect for getting ready, staying the night and hosting your pre-ceremony mingle and cocktail hour.

10. Whistling Wren Farm

This beautifully restored wooden and stone amish built barn located in Keedysville, Maryland is perfect for a modern rustic wedding. With flexibility to use the barn or outdoor space as a ceremony location this property is a four season wedding venue. There is a gorgeous outdoor stone fireplace for your ceremony or for your guests to cozy up to during the late hours of your reception. 11. Harpers Ferry National Historical Park

We have shot numerous elopements and micro weddings in the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and we highly recommend this option! If you need an area for your ceremony and guests- the park has designated the lawn area at historic Wirth Hall, now commonly known as the Mather Training Center), for weddings. If it’s just the two of you or just a few of your guests we can find a beautiful private place for your elopement or micro wedding ranging from riverside, waterfalls, cliffs, mountain overlooks, or ruins. We can spend 3 hours walking through the picturesque park filling your wedding album with all the gorgeous sights that Harpers Ferry has to offer.

12. Hill Top House Hotel Coming in 2024

The Main Hotel Building was burned down, rebuilt, burned down again, partially rebuilt and has fallen into disrepair. The current state of the building and the inadequate foundation require it to be completely rebuilt from the foundation up. They are currently in the process of building this amazing luxury hotel.

The Hill Top’s food and beverage offerings will be curated by Chef Andrés and his acclaimed Think Food Group team, the only chef in the world to have a two-Michelin-star restaurant and four Michelin Bib Gourmands, all in the DC area. A second bar/lounge, “John Brown,” is located at the highest point of the hotel, over 500 feet above the Potomac River on the Rooftop Deck where patrons can be inspired by breathtaking river sunsets. It is anticipated that this deck will be fitted out flexibly, allowing it to serve different purposes (such as yoga) throughout the day/week.

The hotel will also support a Coffee and Wine Shop as well as Mr. Andrés particularly romantic version of room service. The Hotel’s catering operation has been designed to make it one of the top private function venues in the Washington, DC area. It includes 9,000 square feet of ballroom conferencing, and “Silicon Valley-style” learning spaces as well as dramatic pre-function spaces and multiple outdoor venues.

The T.S. Lovett Ballroom can accommodate more than 270 in a full banquet setting or more than 400 for a reception or ceremony. There is additional capacity in the pre-function areas and the adjacent facilities. Outdoor, tented areas for very large groups are also available.
