Winter Break
So we took a little break over the past couple of weeks. We’ve been working our butts off and renovating our home, all while raising a 3 year old. Our holiday break started off with a little visit to urgent care. I (Christine) got laryngitis and lost my voice completely several days before Christmas. The Doc ordered me to rest my voice and get some sleep. (I have a 3 year old, so yeah right. And furthermore, it was the holidays, so me not talking was kinda mission impossible.) My voice was down to barely a whisper, Danny took all calls and translated for the general public. After a round of steroids, honey and ginger tea around the clock and 6 boxes of cold medicine, a lovely couple of days with hives, I finally started to feel better…yesterday…our entire winter break, sick as a dog. Ugh. So I tried to stay in bed or on the couch as much as possible, but daily walks/hikes outside in the fresh mountain air helped more than anything. We live on top of a mountain and across the street from us is the Appalachian Trail, which runs along the ridge dividing Virginia & West Virginia. We stuck around the house, I still had to be a mom, still had to walk the dog, so jumping on the AT wasn’t going very far and pretty routine for us. Even though we were trying to stay under the radar and offline, Danny grabbed a camera and the drone to capture some of our moments over winter break. Im pretty glad he did.
