Maternity Session in Shenandoah National Park with Lauren and Kodie

THE best part of our job is capturing amazing humans over their lifetime. We photographed Lauren and Kodie’s wedding back in 2017 in the Charlottesville, Virginia area. Now, they are expecting their first child and we couldn’t be happier to capture their maternity photos and soon, their newborn photos.

We photographed them in Shenandoah National Park along Skyline Drive at Raven’s Roost overlook. This spot has the most incredible sunset views with layers and layers of the Blue Ridge Mountains. They brought their first loves, their fur babies with them who were such good boys, they got all the lovin and treats and are going to be the best big brothers to their newest pack member.

We can’t wait to meet their little one in another month!

Here’s some tips on finding the perfect spot in Shenandoah National Park for your maternity photo session! There are many options for locations within the park that would provide a stunning backdrop for your photos. Some ideas might include:

1. Skyline Drive: This scenic byway runs the length of the park and offers breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are many overlooks along the drive that would make for great locations for your photo session.

2. Waterfalls: Shenandoah National Park has several waterfalls that would make for a lovely setting for your photos. Some options include Dark Hollow Falls, Whiteout Canyon Falls and Overall Run Falls.

3. Hiking trails: There are over 500 miles of trails in the park, many of which offer stunning views and secluded locations that would be perfect for a maternity photo session. We can help you research the best ones for your activity level.
